Who We Are

Founded on Passion, Built on Music

Since its inception, Music Across Borders has been dedicated to the transformative power of music. What began as a single idea in 2013 has grown into a mission-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit that connects communities, creates musical opportunities, and empowers individuals through education and outreach.

Our Journey

2013
The seeds of Music Across Borders were planted with the dream of using music to bridge cultural gaps and provide opportunities to those without access.

Our first trip to Uganda marked the beginning of the Strings for Uganda project. This initiative, birthed at SMK (School of Music Kampala), laid the groundwork for our long-standing partnership with the Kampala Music School.

2016

Our second trip to Uganda took place, with Corby and Nick representing our team.

We were honored with the Pollination Project Award, enabling further growth and impact.

A grant from the Kampala Music School funded musical education for 10 Strings for Uganda students.

2017
Music Across Borders was officially established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, formalizing our mission and expanding our reach.

2019
We hosted a fundraiser at Freedom Interiors and forged a partnership with Rebel Song Academy, strengthening our ability to connect and empower young musicians.

2020
Amidst global challenges, we launched an online partnership with Rebel Song Academy, adapting to continue our mission and support musicians across borders.

Looking Ahead

Today, Music Across Borders focuses on bringing music education to Kansas City while maintaining our commitment to global outreach. From local lessons to international partnerships, we continue to connect, create, and empower through the universal language of music.

Join us as we build a world where music knows no boundaries.
